Here at Tech Dive NZ, we offer a number of TDI dive courses. TDI, or Technical Diving International, is a technical diving certification agency providing courses on on mixed gas diving, overhead environments and rebreathers. The TDI courses we offer are:
Pre-requisites: Advanced Open Water
Duration: 3 days
This course examines the use of EAN-21 through one hundred (100) percent oxygen for optimal mixes to a depth of forty (40) msw / one hundred thirty (130) fsw. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for utilizing EAN-21 through one hundred (100) percent oxygen for dives not requiring staged decompression. Decompression techniques may be combined with this course at the discretion of the instructor.
Pre-requisites: Advanced Open Water
Duration: 3 days
This course examines the theory, methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving. This program is designed as a stand-alone course or it may be taught in conjunction with such TDI courses as Advanced Nitrox Course, Advanced Wreck Course, or Extended Range Course. The objective of this course is to train divers how to plan and conduct a standard staged decompression dive not exceeding a maximum depth of forty five (45) msw / one hundred fifty (150) fsw unless taught in conjunction with the Extended Range Course. The most common equipment requirements, gear set-up, and decompression techniques are presented. Students are permitted to utilize Enriched Air Nitrox mixes or oxygen for decompression provided the gas mix is within their current certification level.
Pre-requisites: Advanced Open Water
Duration: 4-5 days
The Advanced Nitrox and Decompression courses may be combined into a single, integrated programme requiring less financial commitment than doing the two courses separately. This combination is an excellent entry into technical diving!

Pre-requisites: Open Water & 25 dives
Duration: 2 days
The Cavern Diver programme provides divers with an awareness of the underwater cavern environment and provides an introduction to the skills required to safely undertake dives within the cavern zone. During the course you'll practice line handling, reel use and emergency procedures in the open water and then conduct four cavern dives to practice these skills in the overhead environment. Please note - this course can also be done as an extended live-aboard trip at the spectacular Poor Knights Islands.

Duration: 3 days
The Introductory Cave Diver programme takes cavern divers beyond the cavern zone and into the complete darkness of the cave. You will be taught all the skills required to safely dive in this challenging environment and tested on these skills with a variety of emergency scenarios and drills within the cave environment. Please note - this course can also be done as an extended live-aboard trip at the spectacular Poor Knights Islands.

Pre-requisites: Introductory Cave Diver
Duration: Minimum 4 days
This course is the 3rd stage of training in the cave diver development program. Advanced cave dive planning and the practical execution of more complex dives are the focus of this course. Students will cover a range of typical scenarios commonly faced by cave divers, plus expand and refine the skills learned on the previous two classes. Emphasis is placed on skill refinement through actual cave penetration dives.
